Database Instructions
When you first access the Resources Database, you will see a screen listing the most recent additions to the site (i.e., journal or book citations). This list provides users with the most up-to-date material on the site, and it will change often as more material is uploaded.
Most Database users will make use of one or more of the site’s search options. To make a search, simply enter part or all of the data (i.e., title, author, collection) you wish to retrieve. Search results are based on the search terms you enter, and each result will be presented as a bibliographic citation. If you wish to view more detailed information on the returned result, click on the icon at the far left. This feature will retrieve all information stored on the chosen resource, including abstracts.
The most commonly used search options are:
Quick Search: This search option selects index terms used in the database, or allows for a search by keyword (i.e., creator [author], title word, abstract word). This screen also allows you to designate the order of your retrieved results: (i.e., title, publisher, publication year, timestamp, etc).
Browse Collections: This search option allows users to search by Book, Journal, or “All Types” of collections. The number listed in parenthesis after each listed collection refers to the number of bibliographic references that will be returned.

Browse Keywords: This search option lists keywords assigned in the database. The number listed in parenthesis after each keyword refers to the number of bibliographic references that will be returned.

Browse Categories: Categories are broad topic designations for materials included in the database. This search option allows you to browse records by key areas of focus. The number listed in parenthesis after each category refers to the number of bibliographic references that will be returned.

Other Features:
File: Selected records may be exported into your EndNote, ProCite, or other bibliographic management software using the appropriate option under Export. For use on how to create lists or other files (i.e., RIS, XML, HTML), click here.
Add to basket: If you wish to store bibliographic data after performing a search, you may click "add to basket." This feature allows you to create a list of bibliographic references while continuing to search. To retrieve the list, click "view basket" under the Resources heading. Note: The basket does not save references. Closing your browser will result in loss of data.
